What makes them do that though? they are the happiest of the gene pool so far LOL so i am not sure who would be guilty and why they do it?

No clue. My Jake is getting close to being raw from his.

What Gloom does to reach there with her teeth is she pulls her skin up and out... like if you were giving an SQ injection you'd tent their skin..like if you had a rat in your t-shirt and you pulled it out at the neck to peek in. Does that make sense?

I can just imagine those cuties laying on their sides doing that...no idea though. Maybe sneak up on them and watch?

I will keep their cage down tonight when I take them out of the playpen and see if I can see what they are doing. I will play spy on him.

I know you are anal :cheeky: about cage cleaning, but I wonder if it the pee that they lay in since most of them lay around. Maybe the pee is causing some irritation just a thought.

These little guys are just so funny to watch. I could sit here for a long time watching them zip around the cage.

Lily has a shorter tail. I seen a picture of her when she was very young and it looked degloved. I am not sure what happened but it appears she is missing half her tail.

I had to play with them for a bit this morning. I dont think i will ever get used to seeing how they popcorn. It is just beyond cute.

Not really. I havent noticed any of that since they are all together. They sleep together and they get along well. It has been nice not hearing turtle scream and the boys are not screaming anymore either. They are happy now they are without the bullies. Irish was a bully and so was the mommas.

Which is funny, I seen grace under the ramp and she was squeaking at Jax who was trying to get to her. She dont like it now that the shoe is on the other foot LOL she was the one who tormented the girls. She has done better with that group, she cannot get away with being a bully when she is soooooooooo outnumbered and the lack of changes for her does her good. She dont get stressed out anymore so her stress level has dropped completely.

On a purely psychological note, I think it's fascinating how at ease the babies are on their backs - it's totally not a normal position for animals, and I think usually triggers higher stress levels and some serious wriggling to get upright again, because their bellies are their soft, vulnerable part.

That very random scientist moment aside, they really do look like they're thriving with you! And so, so sweet!

I think because they have been like that since birth they dont seem to know the difference. Some never were upright. It is still pretty shocking that they dont react more to it though. I do know having them alone has helped with their confidence a lot. Turtle plays a lot more with out mean momma around.

Hippos lives with Shannan in the same town as me. She lives with Maude, a baby from Noels litter, Sheeva, a pew girls from Faiths litter, Milenna, Shannans older girl.

as you can see she enjoys her rat pile with Mileena on top of her.

She has some hair loss as Hopper does so I went over there and revo'd the girls.

as you can see she has a bit of hair loss on her face.

I guess she has learned how to scratch her self with her disablity. Shannan said she will bite the bars to steady herself then scratch her itch. I am trying to get her to catch it on video because that is a must see.

She is doing good and very lovey still.

They are lucky. Mileena was so easy to introduce to the girls she was a lone rat her whole life and shannan got her and searched for cagemates which she took the 3 girls from me. So she now has 3 buddies which is a blessing for her. They really seem to be doing well. They are very sweet girls. Sheeva is like the brat girls i have here LOL a little turd.

She is more like willow and Liam. They walk a majority of the time but fall over a bit. Unlike turtle and hopper who seem to be hit with it worse than the others. Hippo was climbing the cage when I was there. So you can tell she is different, she has the curve to her body but she is. She still was on her side, a few times when i was there but she was mostly walking. She isnt as crazy as my Willow LOL but she gets around great.

Despite they all look very happy together, I'm so glad they are thriving! You guys rock!

I decided to switch my oldies (Skittles, Finley and Ella) out of the bigger cage and put them in the smaller one. I have now moved the babies into the bigger rabbit cage since they are more active and could use the floor space more. Skittles and finley pretty much sleep. She is over 3 now, he is over 2. Ella who is around their age is very active but she gets out time on the floor with them and Marinette so I think this set up will work better.
