Thanks for posting the comparisons!! I think what I'm most impressed with is the change in their faces. You can really see the confidence they have in you is building.

On Lumi, I really feel that she was able to pass peacefully because she could finally quit the fight.

Also she lived her lifelong dream of eating cheerios.

Soon. They now look pretty normal, but their bellies always feel a bit rounded, but I am sure they have had plenty of litters as well

Don't forget starving Shade gained over 100 grams in a month and I think it was about 80 grams at 2.5 weeks, which is less than their gains.

She's the one I thought was pregnant before, but that belly changed and she still might give birth but only with a couple of pups if any. Its so hard to judge with former older breeders who were starved. As you can see here, her belly seems normal, and there's no real preggy belly like you would expect just a normal healthy rat indent into her sides.

She's the one most likely to be pregnant I feel, but she also had the farthest to go with her weight and condition, she seemed almost as unwell as Lumi when she arrived. I took her weight that night as well and it was 176 grams on the old scale. Now she's almost on par with the other girls. That 2nd pic is that a former belly from a former breeder or a new belly with a few pups in it? :scratch:

What you're doing for these rats is so great; I'm sorry to hear about Lumi, but it sounds like she was grateful for all that you did for her. I hope the other girls aren't pregnant, but if they are I'm sure they'll be in good hands.

Kayi does have a bit of a belly. I have never had a breeder before, so I don't know how much of an impact it has on them. I guess we'll probably find out by the end of the weekend!

I put them in a small carrier, give them a light treat and they sit and stay still to eat it. Its pretty accurate.

I gently felt Kayi's belly and it feels empty, no jelly beans in her tiny-ness.
