Hamster colors are far different from rat colors.

My girl I would consider fawn is called an Argente color

The brownish ones are considered agouti... which to me isnt LOL

The syrians may be a bit closer to rat colors than dwarfs but it is amazing how the names are so different for the same color LOL

That cream colored one looks like it does have dark eyes. Our white syrian has black eyes and it is so odd to me. I love seeing these colors and learning them though. Cant wait to watch them change more in the next few weeks.

LOL, I'm by no means an expert on the colors despite all the guides online - even with the same names on different websites, to me all the colors look different - might be the difficulty of capturing "true" colors with various cameras, lighting, and whatnot. Plus the babies kind of molt, so their final coloration might be a little different in the end.

Day 17 - Holy moly, these babies are growing fast!!! A couple of the golden ones are especially chunky little monkeys. They're extremely active now, so I probably give them a wheel later on today. Super cute with their food too - although I've been giving them copious amounts of it, they insist on keeping their little pouches packed to the fullest at all times.

I love the water bottle wars they have at the bottles. It is so funny to watch them fight over it. The colors are so difficult to get. but it does look like syrians have the same colors as the rats so that might help. I went through hell trying to get the colors of the ones we had the only one I had was the white ones LOL no problems with them.

April 22: Day 18 - *POUTY* I had some vids of the pups' first go at the wheel, but the edits got stuck in Youtube, and it looks like I have to re-upload them later when I get home. They'll have to wait til tomorrow's update. *PHOOEY* But moving on, I remembered to include momma in the photos this time. Babies aren't so itty-bitty any more! Sorry for the random music in the one non-wheel video that I managed to upload - hubby was watching "The Wire" and boyo the language is really ... vulgar.

April 23: Day 19 - AHHH, these babies are such a hoot! Their individual personalities are starting to emerge, and they are on the go-go-go! After much initial trepidation with the wheel, they are now running on it like champs (the wheel intro vids are finally up). Lots of wrestling and chasing going on too. Watching them now is way more entertaining - even the hubby gets sucked in.

Those corn pictures are beyond cute omg.

Syrians dont stuff their cheeks like dwarf hamsters can do they?

I remember when the babies here started eating, they learned fast how to fill those pouches up LOL

Have you sexed them yet? I am sure you did but i forgot  I love the one on his back omg his belly is just so plump. Loving these updates. The babies are so cute. I would snatch that little beige one up in a heartbeat..

They're so adorable. I've loved going through and seeing them grow up. I don't know how you could resist touching them for so long, it would be torture. <3

April 25th: Day 21 - D'aww, just realized that the babies are now the size of adult dwarf hamsters. They're having a blast with all the small old toys that I saved. I did do a preliminary sexing several days ago, but I'll do it again tonight to make sure I got it correct. I'll also need to bring out the permanent marker so I can differentiate between all those cute agoutis.

April 26: Day 22 - I'm so upset. I lost one of the golden babies to a horrible accident with the wheel - poor thing got stuck between it and the bars. Never seen that happen before. I have since set up the wheel so that its free standing, but still, I should have done that from the beginning. But on slightly better news, the little ones got their first veggies, and they LOVE it.

Rip little baby.

Oh no! I am so sorry that scares me since we have the silent spinners in with our littles. Hugs to you! Poor thing.
