Somethings wrong

My dumbo rat, 2 year old male has been making odd sounds recently, I have been researching and looking around if anyone else has had this problem but I couldn't find anything except people reporting "grunting" sounds, if this is even considered grunting, but he's been doing it for a few weeks, it's gotten better and worse different all the time but he's been acting normal.

It does sound more high pitched and "smooth" (consistent) listening by ear compared to the recording.

Ok that is congested breathing, soon to be a full blown respiratory infection. Can you hold his sides to.your ears and listen to.hid breathing? Hopefully it's not deep in his lungs yet. He'll need antibiotics.

I agree it sounds very much like fluid in the airways.
Btw I like that vocaroo thing. I've got a rat I'd love others to hear so I can get opinions
