Thank you for taking her in! She really is beautiful.
My first greyhound had been hit by a car, never saw a vet, and then when he became ill a year down the road, the people who owned him dropped him off at a vet clinic (dragging a front leg that had *never*healed after the accident), and never returned. I was in the process of adopting a greyhound at the time (my first one) and I will never forget the organization calling me and asking how open I was to taking a special needs dog. An elderly individual with only three usable legs was not what I had in mind when I first started considering a greyhound, but to this day I cannot tell you how grateful I am that they asked me to take him. For all of his issues, he was an amazing animal and changed not only my life, but influenced a lot of people around me to look differently at dogs and to consider spending the time/money/effort on special needs dogs.
My point is, it is worth it. I know you're looking at her face and are certain of that as well. It really is absolutely worth all of the extra trouble, time, etc. I wish you the best of luck.
