With the help I have received I am going to also pick up the very expensive Emeraid Diet from my vet clinic. its a really balanced diet in powder form (add water) and is much better for my sickies than Ensure/baby cereal on a more regular basis. I have been wanting to get it for awhile now

http://www.lafebervet.com/lafeber-produ ... -omnivore/

For rats its 3 parts herbivore, to one part carnivore.

Also I finally found a layman site that explains SDA better :D

I tried to buy that for Oscar but it was so expensive. I'm interested to hear how your rats like it, I'm not a huge fan of Ensure or baby cereal and LaFeber has a good reputation for good quality avian diets.

That was a great explaination of SDA, and very informative.

I hope that the specialized recovery food will help your babies keep their strength and fight the virus and any opportunistic bugs that jump in.

Hang in there - it's going to be a rough few months. We will be here for you if you need a hug, or need to vent...

Oh, that diet can be used in a syringe for those rats who refuse to eat on their own.
I wonder if anyone can buy that and if not, I may mention it to my vet.

I am so sorry to hear this, Shelagh. Do you have a mailing address that you can send privately so that donations outside of Paypal can be made? All you can do is take one day, one moment at a time. I know you are doing your best and that your rats are always so grateful for your love. Sending you energy and healing.

My babies and I are thinking of you and your little ones! I'm afraid I don't have the money to donate anything but ill send lots of healing vibes!!!

I'm so sorry for you to have to go thought this. Your heart must be very heavy. I think after the illness is gone, u deserve a few days to you. :hugs: Your very strong and an inspiration.

Thank you everyone!

After these beloved 3 are gone, I still have a few on my List that I am watching and treating more carefully. Jonah goes up and down like a yo-yo, Clemmie is having a rough time too but is sooo sweet. I forgot to shut the bottom latch on the martin's R-680 doorlast night and she must've squeezed out. I was sleeping lying on my back this morning, with my hand above my head on the pillow and my palm to the ceiling when I realized there was a rat sleeping cuddled in my hand. It was Clemmie. My go-go girl just wanted cuddled. Melvin goes up and down, and needs feeding up desperately, same with sister Yara...Norbert is stable, solid flesh but his lungs are still icky and Adella and Nala's eyes...Ugh.

This is Adella's eyes a few days ago...they are worse now...

and Ophelia's one eye (which has already resolved...she didn't have the facial swelling)

Lilspaz, can you keep track of those who donate to you in the month of March, Nic and I would like to them do a raffle for a $40 gift certificate from the Cozy Corner.
We want to thank all those who support you in this time of need. It's crucial for us to be there for our much needed rescues.
