this is so nerve wracking!! LOL

Listen to the ppl who have seen pregnant rats, I guess part of me is hoping she doesn't have to go thru labor and all, she looks so young.

My first rats were a "teen" mom and two of her daughters. I felt so bad when I saw the photos of her pregnant. She was still a baby herself.
so it's wishful thinking on my part

You're not the one freaking out for every stretch and squeak!!! XD So stressful! Lol!

Yeah. :(

Snow is almost 3 months old, at least, that was the age the doctor at Blue Pearl gave us! I hope it is easy on her!

It is definitely a stressful time and I also hope she has an easy birth with no complications :) I had my house on lockdown the last 24hrs before babies haha no tv's where allowed on,no loud talking,no bright lights....I was a full on mess! But I didn't know this forum existed then or I would have been able to have someone to talk me down from my hysteria. I had google and it doesn't always have nice things to say about the stuff you are googling hehe.

I found her old Blue Pearl veterinary paperwork and it said that she weighed 77 grams when we got her. Which means that in three weeks, she gained 143 grams. What are your thoughts on that? She hasn't really gotten any treats in that time so it's not like we are giving her food that is making her fat.

Today is 23 days since we've had her so if she doesn't have babies today, we will have to go to plan B and figure out what's wrong.

wow that's a huge weight gain
sure sounds pregnant, which might be the best of all the possibilities at this point, I'm guessing.
Yes! I am praying that she is pregnant at this point because I don't want to think of any negatives. Who knew you could get attached to a tiny rat lol. I haven't gotten any sleep these past few nights worrying about her. I sleep right next to her cage. I want her to hurry up and have little Snowflakes and put me out of my misery!!

So we just got back from our homeschool co-op and checked up on Snow. I might be going crazy but I think she gained weight since this morning. Her belly is huge lol! Keeping my fingers crossed for little "Snowflakes" today.

Sunday 11/9/14 (158 grams)
Monday 11/10/14 (169 grams) +11 grams
Tuesday 11/11/14 (179 grams) +10 grams
Wednesday 11/12/14 (186 grams) +7 grams
Thursday 11/13/14 (195 grams) + 9 grams
Friday 11/14/14 (202 grams) + 7 grams
Saturday 11/15/14 (210 grams) +8 grams
Sunday 11/16/14 (216 grams) +6 grams
Monday 11/17/14 (220 grams) +4 grams
Tuesday 11/18/14 (230 grams) +10 grams

Well, she did gain 10 grams today. She looks huge today!!

If she doesn't have snowflakes today, I'd say she might just be gaining weight from good food and growing up. 230 grams is still considered petite for a female.

She is very young still. Our older girls are around her weight and while they're not adults, are older than her. Her sudden weight gain is worrisome to me.

Either way , we'll see!

No movement, but the front of her lower belly seems hard now. We are going to monitor her until Sunday and if she is healthy and doesn't give birth to any snowflakes, we will reintegrate her into the DCN with our other girls.

Keep weighing though just in case.

My Sage gained over 100 grams, and she ended up having only 2 babies, 1 stilborn, and 1 that only lived 24 hours :(

Arrived on Oct,. 16th

Our 24th day owning her. :)

She feels so full and huge. She feels pregnant all of a sudden, as if there is something in her but no nesting, spotting or anything pregnant-y.
