I hope Timmy is making out OK after his surgery.

And I am so glad Steve seems to be a sweet boy. Unfortunately there are still a lot of people out there that seem to think pets are disposable.

Yesterday we went to the court for the washer rats in Chicago. It is continued until July 7th which she wants a trial. She showed up late, and her and her daughter sat behind us :) it was something to see them face to face.

Today we went to the animal care camp again with the small animal shelter here.

Buster who was found outside and the people in the neighborhood were having their dogs chase him. He is the sweetest bunny so he is a good one to take for kids to see.

Momma and the babies. I kept them under the table and put them back in the car, we left the jeep running with the AC on to cool off the critters. It was nice not to hot but I didnt want to take any chances. So we put buster, Steve and the babies back in there often. we dipped the 3 boys in the water LOL

I was contacted about 9 rats. I was under the understanding the 6 girls were in one group, a group of 2 boy and a single male. I had them meet me at my vets office. His face when he walked into the room and seen all those cages plus my two boys. He said "I thought you were only bringing one?" then I explained they were just surrendered to me. He got to see the nasty first hand :)

When she showed up with this. I was tripping out. there was as single girl, a group of 3 girls, and one with two girls. I didnt have room in my Jeep for this. I put all the girls together(they are still together in the playpen right now), put the two boys in a carrier and left hammie boy in his cage. Those cages are on my back porch being scrubbed down with the hose :)

4 Rat manors, and the smallest hamster cage with a large male in.

i was told she had asthma attacks when she cleaned the cages so she had to rehome them.

oh those poor rats living in such filth
and the boy in the hamster cage, that is where he lived?!?! what the hell is wrong with people

Yes that was his home. I watched him crawl under a hamster size hidey house to hide from me. He is in the red cage now a huge improvement for him :)

Wow! Well if nothing else you got a bunch of cages...
Do you think the girls will still be OK together after the shock of relocation wears off?
What about the almost naked girl? Is that from mites? Or barbering?
What are their personalities like?

They are sweet older girls. All are over two so they say. They are getting a long well in the playpen I hear some squeaking but nothing major they are just working out the pecking order. They will be ok to stay together :) For some reason intros in our playpen always works amazing here. We havent done real intros in a while. Only with really tough intros but we have been doing the playpen intros almost weekly here LOL

I am not sure why she lost all that hair, seems very odd spot for mites, I Cant remember if she was the one alone or the other black and white one was the single girl.

They are all so damn icky it isnt funny. Their coats are greasy and just gross.

Bath time? Or too stressful?

I thought about it, but it was just that a passing thought. They said he was a nipper to the mom but not the daughter. I didnt want to piss him off but he doesnt seem to be a biter. I treated him for mites I just didnt want to bathe him just yet. Usually in a few days they clean up but it has been a hectic few days and I have a few more hectic ones.

Poor sweeties. It's hard to think of them living in those awful cages. I'd say that the former owner probably hadn't had an asthma attack from cleaning for a very long time.

The ratties were so lucky to be taken in by you!

How would she know it gives her asthma attacks if she never cleaned them!? Or no wonder if she has cleaned it before but always lets it get that bad! Just nasty!

Those poor rats. So glad they found their way to you!

3 of the boys had to be locked up early. They were jumping on my fan to try to get to their cage. I got tired of finding them on the floor so I locked them up LOL these boys are trouble.
