Wow, what a cage! That will be fun for you to decorate bit by bit. The ratties have lots of room to climb and explore.
SQ uses dish towels from the Superstore to make hammocks. She folds the towel in two and then uses shower curtain hooks on the four corners (the towels are easy to pierce) to hang it. Ratties love them.
Ok, I went to the Dollar store today, and went shopping for cage materials, hehe. I got paper clips, more fleece blankets, towels, shower curtain rings, and brand new dishes. I think I have the boys finished, but I needed to take a break before starting the girls, I might even do that tomorrow, since I am tired, lol, long day after working all night, you know? But I am impressed with how creative I was when I was doing the boys. Also, I was using shredded paper, but they kept taking it out of the litter box and into the house. So I got rid of the shreddings, and for now just put some paper down on the bottom of the box. They are using the bathroom in the box, but they enjoy playing with the paper, lol! Also, I took a piece of cardboard and hid it under the fleece on the bottom so that they were not laying on bars, but on something flat. The fleece is pulled tight so lets hope they can't get at the cardboard and chew it too much, heh. And as for my home made hammocks, they don't care much for them, but they might once they get used to the idea. And for bedding, I ended up cutting the fleece to fit the little balconies, so I put the pieces I cut off in the cage for them to snuggle. But now for the best part, the pictures:
TaDa! Before work, took this shot to show the girls, and some of the residents, lol:
This is them hiding and laying in their litter box:

Hi Mini Frog,
I didn't mean the mulitcoloured thing inside the cage, I meant the black (metallic?) circular object at one top front corner of the cage, nearest to you in the top photo. Your left hand is behind it.
Oh that, lol! It is a candle holder, was a shower gift from my sorta step sister from wicker imporium, I have better pics of it from when the power went out, but in the process of uploading, lol, after work though....
