She's out right now happily climbing around and eating cheerios LOL

Balera on the other hand just hates being touched now, too many vet visits and surgeries for trusting anyone right now :(

Poor sweetie! Gosh, I really, really hope she pulls through this and has a chance to enjoy her new life. Although it sounds like she is enjoying herself between the chewing episodes...

That does look quite icky! But she really doesn't look bothered by it. Rats are such amazing beings. She's a string girl.
 
oh a hop, that's awesome! she's got a lot to be happy about

if she'd just leave that wound alone........oh it makes me cringe to look at it, but I bet it'll heal up fast once you can get her to leave it be.
 
The skin around the wound looks pink, so that's good. The muscle looks a bit raw. Hopefully the Intrasite will keep it moist and help it stay healthy until the skin grows back over. Have you talked to Dr. Munn about freshening the edges and suturing it closed? Or is it still infected?
I'm so glad she is enjoying her ability to run about again!

Dr Munn is not around until March 24th...I am on my own until then :(

On that note I picked up the Intrasite gel and have done the first application for Adira.

The "tubes" are not. These are single application use applicators, then you would put a dressing on...bwwahahaha, can you picture a rat with a dressing? *falls over in hysterics*

Fingers crossed this makes the difference. The skin around the area looks wonderful. Now we just need the muscle to look less angry. Keep healing Adira!

The location is only on one side and under her jaw, not on her throat or neck, so either a regular abscess OR a tooth issue... :no:
 
Why did I not give you coconut oil!? Ah! That would have been perfect. It's fatty, and they love it! You should give it a try if you can. I will message you.

I hope that's an abscess *fingers crossed*
 
Geez, that poor little lady can't catch a break. Is it consistent? Sabrina has a blocked salivary gland that swells up and down all the time and has been present for months.
What is your nose telling you?
