well...meet the 2 newest members of the rats in pants gang!!
I got a call from the next town over shelter, telling me they had 3 rats surrendered to them, 2 females and 1 male. I was told one was a white one and then the 2 other ones were chocolate brown...LOL
so, I was pleasantly surprised when I got there that 1 girl was a dumbo mink (!!) and a dumbo pew, the boy was a beautiful agouti hooded.
They were kept on pine shavings and fed dog food so the pew and the boy look pretty rough, the mink seems really healthy.
so fast forward a few days later, the shelter girl I'm dealing with (same one as when I adopted Olivia) got them tested for mites by the vet and it came back negative..which was a total surprise to me since their fur and skin looks pretty bad...and the vet also said she could not feel babies with the mink ( I'm still thinking she
may be pregnant...we'll see that in a few week I guess...)
so after talking with moon, I got them to write me a prescription for revo, just in case so that's a plus
one volunteer did want to adopt the pew girl, but after talking with them, they agree that it made more sense for me to get the 2 girls and him (the volunteer) the lone boy, who is believe to be around 2 yrs according to the previous owner.
so far, the pew was named "red eye" (really? how original...cough cough) and lovey for the mink.
they are getting new names....how about Gemma & Tara???
(I'm a HHUUGGEEE Sons of Anarchy fan!!)
so they will be camping in my office for their QT
(no worries, for those who don't know, we own the business
)
trying to show the skin/fur:
I have to say that since monday, when I brought them bedding and blocks, she seems to look better already!
