Here we are, less than two months from Rat Shack Fest! I'm hoping that lots of you can come!
Mumsy said it well in another thread, if you are planning on attending and are driving and willing to take passengers, please advertise and do so clearly! Also, please read this thread thoroughly for offers and information, skimming posts might make you miss something that could pertain to you.
What is it?
Just in case you don't know, Rat Shack Fest is a day for us to get together as friends and enjoy some good company! Same as last year, we're doing a pot-luck type thing, so if you can contribute, please do! We'll also be asking a $10 donation to cover the BBQ basics and other incidentals, but anything left over will be given to a rescue that we can decide on. I highly encourage hammock makers and other crafty sorts to bring their wears! Perhaps it should be Rat Shack Fest and Bazaar? LOL
Basic Information
Date: Sunday, August 1. I know some people will not be able to attend because it's a long weekend and you'll be doing family stuff, but we're hoping that the long weekend will help others to be able to attend who might be coming from further away.
Time: 10 a.m to.... 5 p.m? Pretty much come and leave as you please, but plan to be there for lunch at the very least.

For those of you who are coming from a good ways away, you might want to know where to stay... here's some options!
The San Man Motel is literally 3 minutes from my house. They've got just a few rooms and it's a typical motor lodge but they've been in business for a long time so that has to mean something.

Ok so some of you might be going "I want to go to Rat Shack Fest 2010, but it's sounds sort of lame and I don't want to spend all day there." Are you ever in luck! Great Blue Heron Casino is minutes away! So, spend the day with us and spend your evening playing the slots and eating buffet. Perfect

Transportation
Port Perry is sort of.... the middle of nowhere. There is Durham Region Transit and, believe it or not, there IS a GO bus top right in front of my house. But I am having a heck of time finding information. So here's what I CAN find on the Go Transit website, but it might be easier to join a carpool if you're looking at going that route. Feel free to PM me if you think you I can give you some information regarding the stop, though.
