So my partner and I went to the petstore to pick up a few things and we saw this poor little girl hiding from the other rats in the feeder rat tank.
Turns out she was a pet that was turned in (they said the owner couldn't keep her because they were moving, she also had a litter of babies shortly after she was dropped off), poor coddled pet couldn't hold her own against the "wild" feeder rats.
We just couldn't see her shivering and bleeding and not do anything about it, the store workers gave us a discount on her because she was "damaged goods".
She's got Dumbo-ish ears and she rocks back and forth, apparently she can't see too well but she's a total love bug and she poses for the camera!
We've named her Sookie.
She's got bites like this all over her tail, we're soaking them with Epsom salt, nothing looks infected but we still plan on having the vet check her out on monday. Once she's healed up and finished her quarentine she'll start introductions to the others.
