the following is an organized adopted list of the rat train adoptables for the canadian rescue effort. it can also be found on page 14 of the quick list. the purpose of making it's own thread is to make sure it does not get buried and can be easily accessed.

attention adopters:
1. to those without their country, state/province listed in red please reply to give that information.
2. if you thought of a name for any of your babies, let me know and i will put it beside their rescue name. (this will help us keep track of the all the new pictures and names we are going to be seeing hopefully very soon once these babes get to their new homes :thumbup: )

with so many adopted or reserved and many from different cages i wanted to organize the list to reflect which adopter is getting whom. if there is a mistake or i have have missed someone please let me know and i will correct it.

reserved=rats not in their homes yet
adopted=rats already home
names in blue=permanent name from their family
red=country, state/province

ALL CLARK ANIMALS ADOPTED!!!

Awesome News! I'm happy for everyone's success :joy:

Happy people with new friends
Happy ratties with new forever homes

:wow5: they all got adopted.. thats soooooooooo awesome!!! :grouphug: everyone is soooo amazing for making this work... im sure it was overwhelming for clark and his wife having all those rats at his house.. no matter how much you love them... that many at one time takes a lot of work.. i have 10 and dont think i could handle more than that lol... and alexandra helps them all the time with the cleaning their cages and giving them luvins n stuff.. shes a doll .. and shes got a big heart .
its kinda sad to know that clark will end up with a bunch more again.. but wow.. this is a huge help ... and it makes me want to cry with joy to know that so many ratties now have forever homes.. its fantastic... you guys are great!! :urock:

Clark has to learn to say No, and to limit his numbers so that he can properly care for all his rats. THIS is a one-off and will not happen again.

Another name for the list :)

Slight possibility it could change if another name pops up, but I've been calling Boy 2, Cage 14 "Hobbes"... thought of the name Hobson (which is the name of a hobbit -- and thinking of his hobbit feet), but also do like Calvin and Hobbes, so the short form Hobbes seems to be sticking.

Hobbes and I hung out on the couch last night and munched treats together. He wouldn't take peas!! I almost fell over in shock. Finally, I thought - huh - and split open a frozen (thawed) pea so that he could smell the inside. That did it. He's now a passionate pea thief like all good ratties should be...

i'm trying to keep up on names for everyone but i have a sinking suspicion that i missed some. so if anyone has names for me to add please let me know and i will get them up ASAP.

also, if you have your babes home (or know that someone has their babes home) but i still have the name as reserved rather then adopted please let me know and i'll change it to be what its supposed to be.

we're so close to having everyone home. its so exciting. i've been loving all the pictures.

there have been some mix ups in reserved rats getting to their reserved homes (though they all got to a home anyway-with the unfortunate exception of the ones reserved by kimberly). as such once your rats have their forever names i am just going to remove their rescue names. we will still be able to use this thread to help recognize the rat train rats though.

all too soon, we have to say goodbye to one of the rat train rats. Ace, the 3+ yr old boy died today from rapidly spreading cancer. he was fostered by me and adopted by Dahlas and loved dearly. he is survived by his cagemate Tory and many wonderful adoptive ratty sisters and brothers he had only had the chance to meet but a few times. though his time with his family was short he was well loved and cherished. he will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

i am very sorry to have missed this earlier but fortunately not everyone has. my condolances to Randy in his loss of Gimli to an unknown underlying cause after a neuter. Gimli was lost to this world on june 25, 2008. he is survived by his other rat train buddy tobias and many wonderful adoptive ratty sisters. though he did not know his family long he was loved and he will be missed.

Gimli's memorial page

the rat train is barely over and already we are having to say our goodbyes. this is a sad time for all of us but we can take comfort in the fact that they reached their families that they have been waiting so long to have and were loved and will be missed. for a rat, whose lives are so short, the love that they were able to receive from their families meant the world to them. rest easy dear travelers and play hard at the bridge.

on tuesday july 1, 2008 Harriett, one of deefar's degu's lost the fight with her her illness. she saw the vet on the previous monday, but she was just too sick. she has been survived by her cagemate Henrietta. barely home and already making another trip, this time over the bridge, the dear soul. play hard and play free little one.

It is very sad that some of us only got the pleasure of knowing these precious little ones for such a short period. It might not have been for long but we loved them all the same.......
Play hard and free little man Ace, Little Gimli and little Harriett..... :heart: :heart: :heart:

Bossman AKA Homer has passed on quietly as well. Amanda (NYDaisy) had adopted him so as not to break up him and his cagemates and she fell in love with him in the short 3 weeks she had him. He was fine, active and seemingly healthy and then gone.

Bounce light and happy Homer Your mom grieves heavily but you know that those 3 weeks with her was a lifetime. :heart: :heart:

It is very sad.....I know how Amanda feels...I feel honored to have met my dear little Ace... will never forget him.......Hugs to everyone who lost a rat train member so soon...Hope all the others get to love theirs for a long time....

((hugs)) Thank you for posting that Shelagh. I do miss him very much, but so do his former cage mates George (Sway) and Plato (Socrates) I am hoping that intro-ing them into one of my bigger groups may help make them feel better.

Zen was very sick. he had a heart condition for a long time. recently he developed a inner ear infection/PT. this afternoon he passed away in his sleep under my chin. he was there, and then he just wasn't anymore. sleep well little man. only 14 months old and you had quite a time of it, but at least you had a family in the end. you will be missed. rest well and play hard at the bridge.
