I am thinking of changing Olives name to "OH OLIVE!!!" :wallbang:
During her out time last night I noticed Olive was smelly again. :gaah:
Her eye was runny and swollen.
Luckily Dr. Munn could see Olive at 4:30pm today.
Holly and I took Leila with us as well hoping she could be seen as well.
It was noticed by Dr. Munn that Olive had debris suck in her eye.
After gassing her to slow her down it was removed.
It was brought out and it looked like wet cardboard or maybe yesterday's news.
I can't seeing Yesterday's News being flat like that.
I am leaning towards cardboard.
Dr Munn was glad that I bought her in as the eye likely end up like the other one.
Olive looked so funny trying to walk after her procedure!! :giggle:
Wobbled worse than I do.
Leila was looked at and is having a spay and two lumps removed on Thursday morning.
Both have lost weight and need fattening up.
Olive cost me $87.17 and Leila will cost $310.18.
Dr. Munn offered me a rescue rate for Leila.
So despite having spent close to $1000.00 and saying a fond farewell to my new computer,
I believe that if you have a pet you have a responsibility to see that they receive proper medical care.
I could in no way let my rattakisses suffer than I could let one of my girls.
Just thinking of that poor naked boy( his story is posted) dying of an infected eye and neglect makes me so angry and sad that he died that way.
Thank You Dr. Munn!! You rock!!!

Oh dear, you have a "Lilith". She had to go in often to be gassed down and have guck pulled out of her eye.
Was it Olive's good eye that was the problem this time?

I would have thought It would be her healing eye socket but it was her "good" eye.
Olive was shaking her head and rubbing it as well as the smell. :sick2:
She has lost weight as well.
I love that Dr. Munn fit Olive in right away.
Also not minding that I brought Leila in.
Getting a rescue rate was such a lovely surprise.

Olive and her eye.. the ongoing saga. :(
That little feisty girlie won't let me near it.
Off to Doctor Munn on Thursday morning for drugs and eye flushing.
I have a feeling that I will be making a habit out of this.
I don't want her to go blind, besides she hasn't met Randy Butternubs yet. :cheeky:
Who can say no to this sweet face?
She's trying to escape.

Most likely your little gal has stuff under her 3rd eyelid and an infection from it. Abs, flushing out should take care of it. IF she does have stuff under her eyes then you might want to start flushing her eye once a day to help her out. Natural tears works well, and it kept Lilith away from the clinic longer than without :p

I personally think she likes the drugs. :giggle:
I have been flushing her eye daily but I let it slip when I was sick.
Now I pay for it. :gaah:
Off I go :bliss: to see Dr. Munn.
I received a lovely hand written Thank you card today. :cuddle:
Dr Munn and staff loved their Christmas card and gift that the rattakisses gave them.
I have convinced Jim that the kitties need to see him too.
I will have to ask if 6 kitties gets a bit of a discount.
Doesn't hurt to ask.

:gaah: Olive certainly is high maintenance. :gaah:
I have been flushing her eye daily but Olive has stuff in her eye again.
I said goodbye to fleece, yesterdays news, cardboard and am only using pillow cases and like material.
Do you think the Harlan food crumbs are getting in Olives eye?
Mr Butternubs had a bit of debris once but I was able to flush it out.
Not so for Olive.
I was able to get a bit of gunk out of the eye but not all of it.
So Miss stink eye has to go to Dr. Munn on Tuesday.
Her missing eye socket is leaking porphyrin as well.
Shelagh what are you using for your nakids?
At $50.00 a visit I am quickly losing my emergency vet fund.
Personally me thinks Olive is quite partial to the happy drugs she gets from Dr. Munn. :giggle:
She is living with Nubbies, Kenny and Clemmie.
Leila and her gang terrorise poor Clemmie and Kenny.
Actually nobody likes Clementine but there is less drama with Olive.
Poor girlie. :cuddle:

broadcloth hammocks from the Cozy Corner, and Vet bed from Montreal Critters...wipe the shelves every day, NO litter in the litter box (change that often...stinky) and they seem to be okay. Are you using drops or gel drops?

Both gel and eye drops.
Where did you buy the broad cloth?
I can try and sew my own hammocks. :thud:
Do you leave the shelves bare?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Oh how I love nakids but..... :gaah: those eye issues!!!!

Nic sewed me up some broadcloth hammocks, so you might want to check with her or Jo where she got the fabric from.

its possible the fur of her companions is also causing the problems :( this was Lilith's main issue.

:gaah: The last three times it was fleece stuck in her eye.
I haven't any choice but to have them in together.
Kinda makes me want to kick myself for selling the 3rd level add on. :emb:
I will ask about the broad cloth.
Thanks for all your help Shelagh. :cuddle:

It's the same as all the other times.
Watery, squinty, porphy and oh so smelly. :sick2:
It a cloudy looking as well as irritated by her rubbing at it.
Pix are a no go as she won't hold still.
