Well, I think I gave the pharmacists their story for the day. They all found it so entertaining that I was going to be giving such tiny amounts, and then asked how I was going to get her to take it. I told them I had the tiny syringes and they said "Yeah... but how do you convince her to put it in her mouth"... if only we knew sometimes eh?
Valerie seems to be thinking that anything going between the cage bars is something to fight for, so thus far this run medicating her with the baytril has been easy... I haven't even had to mix it with something tasty! Just put it in the cage bars, and when she is fighting everyone else and chomps on it (which she does... chompity chomp) I shoot it in and she seems to not really notice. LOL... hopefully it is the same with the Zithro!
So here is my question. The pharmacist gave me 4.5 mls of distilled water to mix the meds with when I go to rehydrate the other half. But I'm thinking that wont be so tasty. Can I use strawberry syrup or something of that nature (and still just do the 4.5 mls) or do I play it safe and use the water she gave me?
I'm going to give her her first dose now and see how it goes over.
