Ideas for 24-7 recording?

I'm trying to figure out how to have a camera set up, so that if ever something happens I want footage of, it's there to be retrieved. If sound would be too hard, video-only is much better than nothing. (Seems like the only audio that would make any difference, would be if there's a cheap easy way to make it very sensitive? Since rat sounds are so quiet or nuanced.) Any ideas? Experiences?

I have YI Home cameras and they hold an SD card. It recycles from the oldest footage so I get about a week of data.

Oh I wonder if dog cams might work? I've seen some advertised for when leaving your dogs at home.

I just found a dog cam that ... tosses treats. Um ... I'm supposed to leave my rat with something that can give out treats? Yeah, that is not going to happen. (Time for a Wall-E sequel? Rat starring as Eva ....)
