I wonder if maybe it's just a cyst? Sometimes rats have cysts.
He really is a cutie.

well it popped today while i was cleaning his cage out he seems fine and not in pain so all is well for now

Just make sure you flush out that cavity (I use a saline solution) twice a day, so that no more gunk is left inside when it heals otherwise it will just happen again and again.

Hi! There's a vet in Riverdale that has removed lumps from at least a dozen of our rat friends if you want to check them out. I put the name of the place in the Vet Rolodex yesterday. they used to charge, I think, $65.

I don't know if I've ever had a buck with a mammarial cyst, but it sounds like it could be that.
