Blood in Mouth - Back from Vets (serious tongue injury)

We cleaned all the cages yesterday afternoon, and the good thing is no bleeding since then Sparrow is happier this morning, got him to eat some food, gave him his meds, and then he came over to the door on his own to say hello :heart: Something so simple, yet it says so much about how they are feeling.

Did you increase the amount of pain meds, or did you decide to leave it as is?

Such a relief that he is feeling better! What a painful experience for him.

The good thing was he didn't start bleeding since Saturday, but tonight he started bleeding again. He's not looking too great, but since he's still on pain meds its mostly the taste of the blood thats bothering him. I think I'm going to go back to see Dr. Munn on Friday if it continues. Hopefully he'll be well enough to see what is going on.

Healed up with no problems The tongue healed up and he didn't lose any of it, hooray! Rats really do have amazing recovery capabilities.
