What are the advantages and disadvantages of using each one of these meds? Some say zithro is great on it's own for URI's, but is baytril any better?

Here's my experience with both:

Zithro alone, excellent on rat under 12 months.
Baytril alone excellent for all ages.
Zithro and Baytril combo works every single time when trying to treat a persistent URI or when it's very advanced.

Zithro is much pricier than baytril, right?

I may have to take Starla in to get some meds. She has had some on and off issues, but minor. She is under 12 months.

I'm bringing this thread back to life.

I have been a bad rat mom and haven't been able to bring Starla to the vet. For the past couple months she has had symptoms of a URI.

I'm thinking I may need to get a treatment of both baytril and zithro to treat her.

Can someone help with info in case my vet doesn't know much about it?

Could you bring her to Dr. Munn, she'd know what Starla needs. If she's been sick for a couple of months, she needs to be hit hard with the meds. And a vet that is not on the ball with rats, will not know to go strong with the meds.
