The young mama (Nasa?) and two of her daughters arrived yesterday evening from Jeff via thefriggintribe.
They are looking for a permanent home together.
All three are small for their ages and very healthy and active.
After their long trip they enjoyed running, climbing and exploring the martins cage I borrowed from Godmother.
Here is their story: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=24910

I took a few pictures last night. They were so active it was difficult to take pictures.

the mama on the ramp (martins cages have very small bar spacing so they are safe for little feet)

a determined little mama, she soon rearranged the cage so it was more to her liking LOL
so far she is wary of me but no bites or nibbles,
and all three ratties were brave enough to explore my hand and arm.

The young mama (Nasa?) and her two daughters are looking for a good home where they can stay together.
Edit: There will be a contract and they will need to be spayed.

thefriggintribe has five of their brothers, Jeff has their auntie and two of two of their sisters, and Jeff's friend has two of their brothers
The babies were born on Jeff's b'day - April 4

I wish I could take them. But as you know my spare cage is in use with a couple of boys. Which I need to rehome as I have too many girls and intact boys in the house just makes things stressful, they are not in the same room and the cage is pretty sturdy none have escaped yet but...I do not want to temp fate too long.
I will keep these girls in mind if I find a home for the boys.

Well .... mama Nasa and the babies are a bit less frightened today, are enjoying lab blocks, baby cereal mixed with soy infant formula, peas and corn. I'm sure it is my imagination but the babies seem to be a bit bigger tonight.
This evening I saw the food dish was empty and all the lab blocks had been stashed on the second level of the cage.
Someone has been very busy LOL
The baby girls are giving the wheel a good workout too.

I still haven't been bitten ... :?
I'm a bit disappointed as I enjoy the challenge of working with biters, but this means mama Nasa and her daughters will be ready to go to a new home very soon.

Nasa and her daughters were out on the couch this evening and I took a few pictures.
The babies will be 9 weeks old tomorrow.

Nasa and her two daughters ... follow the leader

The hair on the baby's backs is now very thin, but the hair on their sides is ok.
Moulting?
I have never seen this with other babies.

===============================================

The two babies are nine weeks old today!!
Godmother stopped by for a minute to meet the girls and took a few pictures of the ratties for me

and their tiny mama, now weighing 223 grams (a gain of 18 grams in 8 days) with an appointment to be spayed next Monday

Huh ??? Thank you for your help.
The pictures are exactly what I wanted. They give a good indication of just how tiny these girls are.
Nice pics despite the poor lighting and setting you had to work with

SQ are you keeping these girls? or adopting them out?

Well .... I am getting attached, but I have way too many ratties ....

So, they are available for adoption to a good home But
- they have to stay together
- they have to be spayed (for the health benefits)
- I have a contract and it is like an open adoption - this isn't something that is right for everyone ...
