He is scheduled to loose his manly hood on tuesday Nov 13th.

I have never expereinced this before. Any tips?

Lots of chocolate [or your comfort of choice], and don't feel too guilty calling your vet every 20min to check on him.

I've had plenty of males neutered and most acted like nothing happened the very same day.

Nov 13th is a popular neuter day, Melissa's boys and mamarat's boy is going in too.

Lots of rats to keep in our thoughts!!

I should keep him seperated from the girls for like 2 weeks right?

and do they mess with the stitches?

I am so nervous :S

@ javakittie ~ LMAO..that was funny! Chocolate it is!!!

I like to wait 3 weeks before adding the male with the females after a neuter but that's me being paranoid.

As for the stitches, it depends on what your vet uses. If he uses internal stitches and glue for the outer skin, then I find my guys leave it alone but when my vet used stitches for the outer skin as well, then the boys would pick at it. But even if it opens up a bit, you just have to keep the little guy in a clean area and it will quickly close up. They heal sooo fast.
