Wish Shiloh luck - Neuter tomorrow!

In all the rats I have ever owned (20+, all males) only one has had to be neutered. Until now.

Shiloh, my little dumbo s'meese, is going in tomorrow morning to get his nads removed.

He's got a spot of melanoma on his googlies and it has been slowly growing a little bigger over the course of the last few months. The vet took a look at it when I brought Squid in, and said he could neuter Shiloh and the melanoma would be taken care of.

I'll try and get a "before" pic of his boy bits to show what a melanoma on the scrotum looks like, in case anyone wants a reference.

I'm just glad it's in a pretty "easy" area to take care of and not on his face or ear or anything.

Healing vibes would be appreciated for both Shiloh and Squid!

Well, the neuter went well, they did him first thing so had the afternoon to recover - Going to pick him up in ~30 minutes or so. My little nad-less wonder. XD

Weird! It looks almost like he still has his nads!

I called and asked, frantic that they had only removed the melanoma, but they said there was a lot of fat and some swelling, which will make it look like his nads are still present. But they said 100% that his bits are for sure gone. Has anyone had this before? My last (and only) neutered boy had a completely flat bottom after his neuter - like a girl rat, nothing dangling.
