Weight loss, how much is to much to quick?

Hi all. We have been weighing our girls every 2 days. Our 2 oldest girls had been at a fairly consistent weight for the last 2 weeks, but when I weighed them this evening they both dropped 12 and 17 grams respectively. The only thing that has changed is that we started them on both baytril and doxycyclline yesterday morning. Is this a normal reaction to theses meds?

Yes it is a normal reaction in some rats, the meds might be upsetting to their tummies. I'd start giving them yogurt or probiotics like Acidophilus in their food, might help with their tummies and get them eating again. You could offer them baby cereal or Ensure/Boost to help them during their med treatment.
