Vitamins?

    Does anyone give their rats vitamins? Is this ok to give them?

    Daily Essentials3

    Active ingredients:
    Vitamins A, D3, E, K, B12, C. Niacin, Pantothenic acid, Riboflavin, Thiamine, Pyridoxine, Folic acid, Choline Bitatrate and Biotin.

    Active ingredients continued:
    Minerals include magnesium, Zinc, sulphur, iron, cobalt, copper, manganese, selenium and iodine. Also contains limiting amino acids.

    If you are feeding a good quality block - oxbow, Harlan 2014, science select,
    then they are getting what they need ….. but people do give some extra supplements - please see the Reference Thread

    Please see Diet and Nutrition in the Reference Thread https://www.ratshackforum.com/threads/reference-thread-read-only.35894/ for information on supplements & vits that are suggested you add to the diet in addition to what is given in their rat blocks. There is also information on the daily requirements of rats if you are not feeding a good block - in which case you will need to calculate exact amounts - chronometer (link is also in that section) is a good tool to track nutrition, vits etc
