Tommy has been looking puffy for a couple of weeks.
I attributed it to stress etc as we were housesitting.

Tommy has chf and is eveloping hed.
He has been loosing weight and looking like he didn't feel well.
Recent vet apt, vet thought he might be in pain.
I increased his dose of pred over the weekend.

Yesterday Tommy didn't finish his meds, couldn't lick his meds offf my finger, and was trying to nibble using his teth.

i gave him subQ fluids last night and syringe fed him this am.
He can eat some if he pins soft food down with his front paws.

IDEAS????

Not sure if he needs to be pts today or tomorrow ... or if there is time to try meds.
and a long weekend is coming :sad3:

Thanks.

Vet saw Tommy today.
He is now on Cabergoline and starting dex injections
He was on pred for awhile for his hed (he also has chf)

Hoping it will help ....

Thanks ... dex helping a bit
Tommy had started head butting yesterday afternoon, but no longer doing it this morning.
Syringing meds into him and giving sub-Q fluids ...

Tommy is doing a bit of head butting this morning.
He wasn't eating even a little , although cleaning his face and me.
Syringedmeds and food into hime :(
Will see what the vet thinks this afternoon ... symptoms are progressing too quickly.
Was hoping the meds would have time to have a chance to work ....

Well ... Tommy is still with me ... so hopefully the meds will soon start to work.
The vet thought he looks a bit better then he did on Wednesday :)

Tommy is dying today.
Spent part of the day trying to find a vet to put him to sleep humanely.
Today is a holiday.
Couldn't find a vet.
Tommy has been having seisures for several hours. :(

Oh god, SQ. I'm so so sorry.
Your baby was a fighter right down to the last second- he never gave up. Tommy is probably at the bridge right now, looking over his mommy and thinking about how wonderful of a life he had with her.

I'm so sorry Tommy has passed on. You must have had a horrible day. You did what you could for him - he just couldn't fight any more. :hugs:
