wow this is a great site... the advice articles and youtubes were amazing

this is Thanquol, my first rat (rescued ~ a year ago from a neglectful owner)

he likes:

windows

being cozy

sleeping next to me on sunny afternoons

and playing with me at night

he hates being locked up!

he's a loner... I'd like to get a pack but most people have told me he's way too old/big/male and I don't really have enough space for more pets in my studenty hovel

my favorite thing about him is he never chews cables! the stories I heard when I first got him were terrifying and I watched him like a hawk

btw, I have integrated an older male rattie that had lived alone in with friends. Have also integrated other male ratties . They are very happily to have friends. But intros need to be slow and gradual.

he was Jukebox but he was absolutely terrified of humans for the first few months I got him... thought he might make some negative connection to the word

Thanquol was a british 90's gothic fantasy literary character (a rat wizard)

it's a horrible name to introduce to people (what? you named your rat Nyquil?)
