Templeton's remaining group to Dopeys Remaining group -day 5

Templeton, loki, toby, and dopey were the death of me for intros.

Intro's gone wild!

In march after the failed intros with them for the second time. I decided that if and once my 4 boys passed, I would try again. Toby left us in June 22, 2011, Dopey followed January 3rd, 2012, Templeton left on January 26 and my boy Loki February 1st.

After talking to jo... we decided to try the intros now while alpha is not established in my bigger group of mixed sex rats. With the loss of Templeton and Loki, they were the top two boys, now they are at a middle stage with no one in charge. The remaining two boys are neutered and the 7 girls are all spayed.

Bindi is a big girl already she dont need to puff up to be bigger lol

Algernon my pew boy, I am pretty sure he is templetons son, their builds are identical

Isis my beige hooded girl, puffy......

Finley(hairless) was so close to Toby and Dopey. My boy has to sleep alone now, since dopey passed he slept with him every day, i hate seeing him sleep alone.

Lokis ensure was left over so they had a treat

Mally my little blue girl, templeton and lokis sister.. She has always had problems but she has been worse since October. I dont see her being around much longer. She has a lump and I cannot operate on her, I dont think she will live.

Algernon's color has always been more of a silver white than white like my girls.

Algernon (templeton's son) Ludo (Loki's son) I look at these faces and their shapes are identical to my other boys.

I kept them short today. Mally get wheezy when stressed so I want to go easy on them. Not to mention they just lost two major players in their colony.

In all it looked good, not one was aggressive enough to out right attack, girls were more puffy than all the boys LOL and we shall see how it goes in the days coming on the table

Ludo is always puffy but he is all puff the smallest girls have him screaming...this is my over a year long dream..I knew the rest would be ok it is just the four desceased boys I had issues with. I am excited for a good out come. The girls like to put on a show but they love their boys......

I am mopping the rat room in a bit... So i will take them all out and put them on the floor in here and see how that goes. 45 minutes with a hidey house, I think we can try a floor intro tonight.

I have the cage they will live in ready. I had to take the add on off of one cage, slide that cage over, move dopey's group's cage over and put the add on there. I want to start switching them out in the cage so the boys can adjust to the others so I needed a 3 level to do that.

I did the floor time. they were easily excited, more boys got humped than girls. I have some very confused boys

The peas are a huge treat...since they are minature cows, I use peas during intros because well they go nuts over them lol

I took the peas away, they ran around. I will do some more small intros on the floor in here no cage access....Lets see who the problems kids will be this time

7 girls and only 2 boys in the other group and the manage to only hump ehe boys lol I am going home tonight and doing day 3..hopefully it goes well

Day 3... I am amazed at my boys. 3 of the 9 boys are neutered but the others are not. I had some issues with lenny and squiggy months ago... edgar and eli i think are alpha material because they were the ones stopping the crap when i had the 19 boys together.

I put them on the floor again, no cage access and we spent about 45mins on the floor......nothing.
Algernon was laying there and lenny was being his typical pest and Al just didnt even care. The boys mostly walked by them and ignored them mostly. I am not seeing a bunch of butt sniffing or grooming. They seriously act like they are an established group. I even had boxes down and they didnt make a peep. Not one kinda scuffle or partial scuffle.... nothng.

LOL that can only be Pika's eye. If you remember the video of her attacking the bear over the boy smell...Well it was from these boys that caused that she hated their smell

Towards then end, I blew some bubbles.. The rough breathing is Eleanor another one of my frequent noise makers but ok otherwise.

It is from my phone so it is crappy but just wanted to show the bubbles and how they just look like a group of rats. no stress from any of them.

I have the 3 level cage together but I havent moved my girls over there yet. I want to do it just prior to the move in because they will be squished in one part while the other has 2 (rotated out, not stuck there for good). They get along well as their own groups but I want to be able to put both smells in the cage and that is the easiest way.

That is really great. And it can be in part because they have lived so long in close proximity in the same room so they "know" each other already.
