Sven is my youngest rat, I got him when he was 8 weeks old, when I was perusing Craigslist. A vet student had posted him for free, looking for a good home. She and the rest of her classmates had to buy rats for one of their classes, where I assumed (and hoped) they used them for handling and practicing purposes. But he was in excellent shape when I got him, super happy and such an unbelievable sweetheart! But for a while he looked a little odd, as his back legs were shaved, and he had pierced ears.
Since then his hair has grown back, but he will likely have little holes in his ears for the rest of his life... but it makes him look like a bit of a rebel!
