Sugar Snap Peas

I have a food question:

I know people give frozen peas to their rats all the time but what about raw fresh peas? Can these be given to rats? Can they be given in the pod, or do they need to be shelled first? Would it be better to cook them? My instinct said it would be fine, and I read through the forbidden foods list and didn't see any mention of them, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

If it's not in the forbidden food list, then I would think it's ok. I'd probably give it to my rats if I had them on hand.

I give my crew sugar snap peas from the fresh foods section at the grocery store all the time! It's almost the only kind I give them. Mine won't eat the shells though, and I don't cook them but I'm sure they'd love them cooked.
