I'm sorry neither of you are going to have an easy go of it. After Alfreds neuter I was using warm saline compresses to bring any infection to the surface (he had a rough time and a gaping hole), that will help loosen the gunk up too. it's a loss less traumatic than runing them under the tap or putting them in the sink cause he could lay in my lap and lick at some yogurt of something - if that would be ok for Bella.
I'm sure the meds will help her to heal better too. I hope no more complications for you both.
