I had a trio of males until recently. Ari, Benji and Mannie. B & M spent most of their time in one nest box with each other. A would regularly join them but he spent a lot of time in another box too sleeping by himself. Everyday I'd have to change the bedding and clean B&Ms box because it would reek of ammonia and urine and be totally wet. They were best buddies but very occasionally grooming would get aggressive so that B would screech. M was the alpha. Never violence though. Sadly Mannie passed away (they're all 27 mths+ now) last week and there's just B & A sharing the box now but it's totally clean and dry. I haven't had to change the bedding yet in 3 days. No more peeing a river daily. I don't understand it. Does anyone know what's going on?
