I've rescued an older (2+) male agouti with a not-so-great past.
He has been in a small travel sized cage his whole life.
At the beginning he had a brother, but "small cage fever" must have affected them, because the owners came home one day to find one and a half rats. Since then, he has not been handled and was named sharkey/jaws.
I've been taking things slow with him. He has not shown any signs of aggression and this morning he was a super licky boy.

Here he is exploring his new home:

He's been a loner for quite awhile. He looks small and lonely in his new home.
I hope to introduce him to his potential cagemates Zeddy and Roo in the future:

I'm thinking about naming him either Vitas (after the russian singer) or Besra (a small asian bird of prey).

I'm so glad you got him!! Poor little guy, having to live in a travel cage. He must not know what to do with all that nice clean cage with toys and wheel... but he'll figure it out!

Look at his new home now! What a lucky boy! He's really beautiful too. I love agoutis!!
I bet his cagemate had died and then he started to dispose of the body.

 Good for you for taking this sweet old guy. I'm like Jo, I love agouti's. He's a beauty and I'm glad he gets to retire in comfort and care!
