hey all,

My hairless will not chew in the wood sticks or hung fixtures and teeter totter thing I got for her. She loves to chew through her fabric hanging structures and is currently trying to chew through some heavy duty plastic bird toy hooks we used to hang her hammock. As I don’t want to have her develop a have it of eating plastic... I am seeking other recommendations, besides wood, that will encourage her to chew on them.

Mine like chewing cardboard boxes I give them as houses …….. such as a large box with a small doorway cut in 2 sides, a doorway cut in the top and filled with loosely crumpled paper - they burrow, rearrange, build nests, climb and chew the boxes …. boxes have a short lifespan due to urine marking

Some ideas for toys can be found at http://www.dapper.com.au/toys.htm

I've had several rats not like to chew any wood toys too. But cardboard was always a favourite. I've seen a lot of bird toys made out of cardboard.
