Interesting. I though I read somewhere that they needed a certain amount of darkness every day to stay healthy. Unfortunately my curtains do not block out all the light from outside during the night.

Really cool article. Also provides more insight into why a day/night cycle is so important, especially for ratties. Too bad I'm up typing this and lighting up the room with my computer monitor

I live in a city, and sadly it is never completely dark. At night the sky seems to have a red tint to it, and you can't really even see any stars... I don't like it!
