For the most part they are. Some of the books need updating on a bit of the information but overall they are pretty good and if anyone doesnt know a lot about rats and buys one of these books they'd get a pretty good idea of rats. Some of them like debbies even has a few rattie recipies for meals and treats, also a monthly routine of foods to feed them and foods not to eat. Has tips on keeping them stimulated, their history, health and what they are prone to etc, each book is a bit different. Debbie's book is the most accurate of them all but thats no surprise lol

I have that one MomRat! It is a good read.

Just a warning for anyone who does read it, it is not about rat care. :) Just so no one is fooled, cuz the others are mostly about rat care. Still a good read though!

My boyfriends mom saw it in the bookstore and she said she HAD to get it for me :)

I did have the book linked by MomRat. Definitely not a pet rat book. I found the author too judgmental toward rat lovers. I also found a few of his statements inaccurate. but I must say, it was a good read.

I have/had most of the books pictured and have looked through the magazines. The magazines are crap IMO, often showcasing "cool"/"rare" pets/coats/markings (albino skunks, prairie dogs, etc.) and advertising really crappy pet supplies like those Habitat Defined cages and Kaytee products. The books are ok, but some gloss over a lot of things and have some inaccuracies and it's hard to know what to take for face value and what to disregard when you have no previous rat experience.
