After everyone had a piece of boiled egg this morning, I found Rachael lying motionless on her side at the bottom of the cage.
I picked her up, held her against me and she laid motionless against me.
This was very uncharacteristic as Rachael is approx 10 months old, and a very active little climber.
I also found a large lump in her groin area near her hind leg.
Another vet appointment ....

Vet couldn't find anything wrong.
The lump I thought was an abcess due to its rapid appearence, is a tumour. :(
Surgery scheduled for Tuesday.

Thanks for your comments.

Could the egg have caused the lethargy?

I don't think so.
At the time, I could think of was a stroke or that she was dying ....
I have been giving the rats each 1/12 or 1/14 of a boiled egg each morning after meds as a treat since I realised that Miriam was pregnant.
Rachael hasn't had any previous negative reaction to her piece of boiled egg.

when it rains it pours...poor girl. And poor you.

Thanks ... 3 vet visits last week for Sunny who died in my arms at 4am Sunday morning,
and two vet visits so far this week - Moses in pain and now Rachael,
and tumour surgery next week.

Thanks for mentioning pain, Victoria.
I'll watch out for signs of pain and give pain meds if Rachael needs any.

Thank you mamarat.
I was wondering that too. Her limbs were working fine and she didn't seem to be in any pain.
I just don't know ...

Just checked on her and she is active but not yet back to herself.
