I recently began juicing to try to get some more veggies into my diet (I am a terribly picky eater)... it felt like such a waste to throw out all of that nice moist pulp leftover until I had a stroke of genius... rat mush!!!
I was already feeding my boys the "odds and ends" that don't get put in the juicer (carrot ends, melon rind, etc.), but then I realized that the pulp would be perfect for them considering it's basically just shredded fruits and veggies. I mostly juice carrots and apples, watermelon, honeydew, plums, and sometimes a bit of spinach. What I started doing is lining the "pulp catcher" of my juicer with a ziploc bag, so when I'm done, I have a perfect little baggie of pulp that I can refrigerate or freeze! They absolutely LOVE it and I feel so eco-friendly! On hot days I think it would be neat to freeze small chunks of pulp for them.
Has anyone else tried this?
