Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever given their rats Probiotics. I've been looking at Bene-Bac, but it is SOO expensive off of Amazon.ca.

I've also seen that people have given their rats human probiotics. Does anyone have any knowledge/comments about this?

Thanks!!

I agree, Bene-Bac is super expensive! I used it for my rabbit once because it’s harder to sneak probiotics into their food, but that’s not an issue with rats.
The human probiotic I use is acidophilus. It’s cheap and easy to get at Walmart. I would mix it into wet food like soaked lab blocks or baby cereal prepared with some sort of liquid. You could probably give them a pill a day a few hours before or after antibiotics. As my vet said, you can never have too many probiotics.
