Unfortunately at Onyx's last vet appointment we decided it was time to put him to sleep. He has been fighting the abscess from hell for months now (story here). We were really surprised he was doing as well as he was. He was still peeing, but not enough. The urine was filling his bladder and causing too much protein buildup. Since there are no rattie catheters...there was nothing to be done.
My vet was really upset about it herself. Everyone there loved him. He was an awesome rat. Great personality and a total ham! He was the first rat we didn't get from a pet store (rescued him from MRR). We will be dearly missed. RIP little guy.
