Hello everyone.
Just joined up hoping to gain lots of knowledge from you all.
I move house in 2 months with my partner and dog. And i want to add a rat (or two) into our family. I Raw feed my dog as i believe in Species appropriate diets. I have the time and money to invest in some ratties as i only work part time during the week.
I have lots of space in the new house and money for cages, toys etc but i want to learn more about general health care and diet. Looking forward to reading through the conversations and threads from everyone.

Welcome to the Rat Shack! When you are ready for your rat, make sure to get at the very least 2! Rats are super social and do better in colonies.

Howdy & welcome! This is a great forum - I have learned most of what I know about rats from some of the senior members here. Joining up and learning about rat care before getting rats is a super idea. And I must second Jo's comment - get two or three siblings, as rats are social creatures and do better in pairs/groups. They're also a blast to watch as they play with each other
