Natural diet

hello there.

Does anyone feed a fully/mostly natural non-commercial food diet?

Best foods? Opinions!

I’ve saved a large list of approved fruits nuts veggies. But I would love input on feeding them the best diet possible cos I definitely want them to be healthy bois I can’t even believe they won’t be here that many years

My rats get a mixture for their staple food. They eat Cheerios, Oxbow's essentials adult rat diet, Oxbow's Veggie mix, and a seed mixture. Unfortunately, all of those are commercial, but I've seen a boost in their behavior and health since I've switched from strict blocks to having a diverse staple diet.

I would like to, one day, buy my own organic seeds and whatnot and replace them with the commercial stuff. I'll always keep blocks on hand, in case the rats aren't getting enough nutrients or they prefer the blocks over the other stuff.
