My rat is convulsing.

my 1year old rat, Inknut, is convulsing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I've just had a look at your video. Your rat looks as if it's having extreme difficulties breathing!
I would rush your rat to the emergency vet asap. Will your rat accept a treat ? if he/she has no interest in eating then your little guy/gal is in pretty bad shape. Breathing problems can turn into pneumonia if left untreated. I hope everything turns out all right. Good luck xxx

I agree with London, definitely take them to the vet as soon as possible to get them looked at. Respiratory problems can turn horrible fast for rats. Hopefully you can get some medicine for Inknut to get them back to feeling good! Keep us updated <3

Thank you so much! I took her to the emergency vet last night and she has a respiratory infection. We have antibiotics, though, so she’ll probably get better soon. Thanks for all your help!
