My rat cages

Hi guys,

I just wanted to show you my cages. They change from time to time and also the room changes quite often. My rats (usually an average of 10 animals, at the moment only eight) have got a whole room for themselves. I only have a small rat free zone that I call my office

This is my rat "hospital"

This was my first (chinchilla) cage, two rats lived in it:

My first try to build an own rat cage: terrible thing. I threw it away after only three weeks. The cages were conneted by pvc-pipes:

This is where my bucks had to live for a few weeks until they were neutered (I only get rats from the rescue):

This was a closet that I bought, it was very cheep:

The ugly yellow cage was self made. I threw it away a few weeks ago.

This is my Unidom, a special designed rat cage. Very easy to clean.

After I got rid off the yellow cage, my rats got a new rats' corner:

Because it was so hard to clean the rats' corner, I bought an aviary last week:

It is only there for the rats to be able to climb because the Unidom doesn't really offer climbing space.

The rest of the room is occupied by rats :laugh4:

OMG... it's rat paradise!! I love the idea of getting them a cage as part of their play, really gives them good physical stimulation.

That was my intension :laugh4: But they ignore it! They don't seem to like it all :doh: Stupid rats! :gaah:

Wow very cool. Are your rats out 24 hours? Wish I could do that here too. How long before they invade your office? lol

Yes, they can run around in the room whenever they want. The sideboards are so ugly anyway that I don't care if they destroy them But so far, they only abused my wall papers :redhot: :gaah:

I have placed the boards at my "office". Except of Bloody no rat has ever tried to get in.

She tried to go through the back of my Expedit-Ikea-Board:

But I was cleverer: I put some Tobasco on it and she never tried it again :lol:

She also tried to remove the tape:

And she balanced along the stairrail!!! :giggle: and jumped to the red box:

But after a few days she gave up and I was the winner :joy:

Talk about rat paradise indeed! Great rat room, I'm jealous.

24 hours? My ratties get an hour or two a day, but .. 24 hours??? Don't tell my rats that! :giggle:
