This is the second cage that I have built, this one is much better I used a Martin's pan instead of a cement tray. But after seeing everyone's FN's I am saving to get one of those it looks so much easier to take care of.

This is the top half, I covered the floor with the rollout carpet you get from Home Depot that you cut yourself. I just take it outside and hose it off with soap and water. I have three sets so I change it often to keep down on the smell.

This is the bottom half it just sits in the tray and I have a hook on each side to keep it down.

and this how they get from cage to cage and to the floor for free range time.

You're so lucky, having access to powdercoated hardware cloth.

I think the utility carpet is a neat idea, as long as they don't chow down on it too much.
 
Oh wow, very nice! That homemade wire cage is fabulous. Usually wire cages that people make look kinda... bent (because the wire's on a roll) and small.

Great play area too :D
