Hello. I have many rats and every time I went to the pet store to restock food, we always emptied them out. So, I switched to buying a large bag of food from a Brandes exotics food seller, Mazuri.
It's been a few months since I've started them on this food, they didn't care for it much at first, nor did I like the smell but I digress.
I've noticed at least 3 separate rats have developed lumps around the mouth. The first rat's lump went away before I could even schedule a vets appointment, it was located in the left corner of her mouth. The second one developed a hard lump under the chin and soon after, the third developed an abscess in the left corner of his mouth as well.
This has never been an issue, and I've had 2 of these rats for 2 years now.
I was wondering if anyone else noticed something similar with this brand of food? I can't think of any other cause as this is the only thing that has changed in recent times.

At their age it sounds more coincidental than anything. The little lump by the side of the mouth could've been a blocked salivary gland, which drained.
