Male castration age quick question

Hi,

I just adopted an older guy, I think he's around a year to a year and a half old. I wanted to fix him so he can live with my females and my other fixed males. Is he too old?

Aside from age, how is his health? Ultimately, it may be the vet's decision as to whether he is healthy enough for a neuter. But I do not believe 1.5 is too old for a neuter as long as the rat is otherwise healthy.

He just as lice/mites so I'll treat him first. Otherwise, he's fine.

If he's healthy I would go for it. I've had a few older than 2 neutered.

Same here, I've had quite a few older males neutered and they did just fine. If health is good.
