Is chicken jerky okay for rats?

I know some meats are okay for them and it just popped into my head what I used to give my dog, chicken jerky. Would it be okay for rats?

I try to avoid giving any kind of meats to my rats. They really should not have high protein or salt.
In moderation I'm sure it's technically "ok" but in the long run for health wise, I'd say no.

how is Jerky made?? is it smoked or something?

dehyrated I believe. Using salt and / or cooking at low tempature for long periods.

if its cooked using salts then i wouldnt give it to rats

Was wondering. Thanks for the input, and yea, I think they use salt to dehydrate so that'd be a no for me
