This is a rat rescue forum.
We do not support breeding animals as feeders.
Personally I am very offended and upset that you are involved in animal cruelty and choose to post about it on here!!! To my knowledge, this forum does not support the live feeding of any animal
If your cricket is a pet and you have questions about it, you might want to change your post to reflect that. Btw, the crickets are beautiful and i hope they have long happy lives.
There is a thread at the top of the introductions section by Jorats, the founder of this site, called Please Read. It is for all of us to read and refer to.
Everyone is welcome on here so I hope you stick around and share regarding your rats, but this is a rescue forum and some things are not condoned or allowed.
You can not discuss breeding animals for feeders or the eating habits of reptiles on this forum.
Please read the rules in the Introductions section, as written by this forum's founder, Jorats
I really do not care about how you rationalize and try to justify this form of animal cruelty and torture.
If you want info regarding crickets, you might do better to ask on a reptile owners site,
or talk to your vet or a biologist who specialists in insects such as crickets
I'm not a troll..? I just wanted to know what was wrong... Is it bad to worry about it? I'm very confused, I am not breaking any rules, these guys are my pets... Yes I breed them, but at least I don't tear their legs or torture them like other cricket owners do, but I don't want the female to die from holding eggs for too long...You are breaking this forums rules.
ADMIN please do something about this TROLL !!!!!!
You aren't doing anything wrong at all, MintyGamer, but there are certain rules here that we all must follow.
This is a great place to get good advice for helping your Ratties live healthy, happy lives. We do not give advice to people who are Breeding ratties, nor other animals. Please don't take offense or feel criticised. Just keep your questions confined to your Rescued pets here, and ask about breeder animals elsewhere, and we should all be able to feel comfy here with each other.
I, honestly, am upset about people feeding rats to their snakes, the only way I could see it being okay is if the rat was first humanely killed, for the sake of both the rat and the reptile, but even then it's terrible... A friend of mine fed live rats to her snake, and was then amazed the rat defended itself and killed the snake! When I raised rats or mice, I ended up just having more pets, I couldn't imagine the fate they had, nor could I afford the fancy equipment to humanely kill them.I understand how it can be confusing. On a snake site people might not be upset about discussion of feeding rodents, here we don't discuss feeding any animal to another. Thankyou for respecting that.
I expect your cricket is just an albino, but other sites are much more knowledgeable about that.
Thank you so, so much!! I appreciate the answer. I kinda figured it might have frieshly molted, because there wasn't a white kricket after a few hours lol. Thank you so much.Your cricket has freshly moulted. You will notice that the exoskeleton will get darker as time goes by... actually probably has already happened at this point.
