How long do we hold the babies?

It is day 3 and we held the babies for the first time yesterday. But, we are not sure how long we should be handling them each day. We know to make sure to wait untill they are well fed first. Anyone know the general rule of thumb for this?

I am not sure what others did but I held mine from day one....twice a day...sometimes three times for no more then 10 minutes each time.......I would let mom out to stretch her legs and visit with her friend....I would then clean baby’s bed...handle them...kiss them and take a few pictures.
I could see mom in the play area with her friend and would judge by her ...she seemed content with 10 minutes....
Be sure not to let the babies get cold....or to get a draft.

I did it for about 5 minutes. Then they started sucking on my hands. I knew it was time to go back to momma.

ok thanks. We wanted to make sure they were getting enough time with us but how much enough was we had no idea!
